WooCommerce and French e-invoicing
WooCommerce is the world’s most popular open-source e-commerce platform, and it powers a significant number of online stores in France. With the French e-invoicing reform taking effect from September 2026 (reception for all, emission for large companies) and September 2027 (emission for SMEs), businesses using WooCommerce will need to generate Factur-X compliant invoices and transmit them to the Portail Public de Facturation (PPF).
Facturiz is building a dedicated WooCommerce integration to automate this process entirely. Join our waitlist to be the first to know when it launches.
How the integration will work
The WooCommerce-Facturiz integration will connect through the WooCommerce REST API and WordPress webhooks to provide seamless, real-time invoice processing.
Planned synchronization flow
- WordPress plugin integration: Install the Facturiz plugin from your WordPress dashboard for a quick and straightforward setup.
- Webhook-based event detection: When an order is placed, completed, or refunded in WooCommerce, Facturiz will be notified instantly via webhooks.
- Automatic data enrichment: Facturiz will add all mandatory French legal information, including your SIRET number, buyer identification, VAT details, and payment terms.
- Factur-X document creation: Each invoice will be generated as a PDF/A-3 file with embedded CII XML data, meeting the EN 16931 European standard.
- PPF submission: Finalized invoices will be transmitted automatically to the French tax portal for official validation.
Flexible payment gateway support
WooCommerce supports dozens of payment gateways. The Facturiz integration will work regardless of which payment method your customers use, processing the invoice data at the WooCommerce order level rather than the gateway level.
Planned features
- Native WordPress plugin: A lightweight plugin that integrates naturally into your WooCommerce admin panel with no coding required.
- Real-time order processing: Every completed order triggers automatic Factur-X invoice generation and submission.
- Credit note and refund handling: Refunds processed in WooCommerce will automatically produce compliant credit notes.
- Multi-site support: WordPress multisite installations with separate WooCommerce stores can manage compliance independently for each entity.
- Centralized compliance dashboard: Track every invoice from creation through to PPF acceptance, all from your Facturiz account.
- Bulk historical import: Convert your existing WooCommerce order history into Factur-X format for full retroactive compliance.
Why WooCommerce merchants need Facturiz
WooCommerce does not natively support the Factur-X format or direct submission to the French tax portal. While various invoicing plugins exist for WooCommerce, none provide the end-to-end electronic invoicing workflow mandated by the upcoming reform. Facturiz fills this gap by handling everything from data enrichment to document generation and PPF transmission.
