Chargebee and French e-invoicing
Chargebee is a leading subscription management platform used by thousands of businesses for recurring billing, revenue operations, and subscription analytics. As the French e-invoicing reform comes into effect from September 2026 (reception for all, emission for large companies) and September 2027 (emission for SMEs), companies billing French customers through Chargebee will be required to produce invoices in the Factur-X format and transmit them to the Portail Public de Facturation (PPF).

How the integration will work
The Chargebee-Facturiz integration will connect through Chargebee’s API and webhook system to capture invoice events in real time and convert them into compliant electronic documents.
Planned synchronization flow
- Secure API connection: Link your Chargebee site to Facturiz using API keys with granular read permissions, ensuring only the necessary data is accessed.
- Invoice event capture: Facturiz will listen for Chargebee webhook events including invoice generation, payment success, refunds, and credit note creation.
- Legal data enrichment: Each invoice will be enriched with mandatory French legal information: your SIRET number, customer identification, VAT details, and required legal mentions.
- Factur-X conversion: Invoices will be transformed into PDF/A-3 documents with embedded CII XML metadata, compliant with the EN 16931 European invoicing standard.
- Automated PPF submission: Completed Factur-X documents will be transmitted directly to the French tax portal for validation and archiving.
Subscription-specific handling
Chargebee manages complex subscription scenarios including trials, plan changes, prorations, and metered billing. Facturiz will handle each of these scenarios correctly, ensuring that every invoice line item and adjustment is accurately represented in the Factur-X document.
